The goal of any application of technology is to enhance the collective creativity of the design team.
At Entuitive, we recognize the value of effectively leveraging technology to realize successful projects. We have a broad and intensive training program for our staff so that they can implement this technology in their daily work. Our collaboration and work flow doesn’t stop with our internal team – we have also recognized there is a need to show our clients how we work to allow for a truly integrated design process.
To facilitate the exchange of knowledge and ideas on how architects and engineers can use technology to enhance creativity and foster better collaboration, Entuitive is providing workshops to our clients to learn and explore exciting new developments in computation to ensure they are at industry’s leading edge. Entuitive hosts workshops that cover various computational design processes and provide practical case studies illustrating key concepts. As our knowledge grows we will continue to share and collaborate with our clients to further integrate our design processes to create exciting and efficient design possibilities.
A THREE-PART GRASSHOPPER WORKSHOP
We invite you to join us for the second session in the three-part series of Entuitive’s Enlighten workshops focused on computational design processes. If you missed the first workshop, don’t worry, it’s not a prerequisite, and you can still attend Workshop II.
The hours of each course are applicable to Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) continuing education hours. A certificate will be issued to attendees upon completion.
WORKSHOP #1 – GRASSHOPPER I: Kangaroo’s capabilities and its various real-life applications (completed)
Completed: October 12, 2017
WORKSHOP #2 – GRASSHOPPER II: Introduction to evolutionary optimization using Galapagos and Octopus (completed)
When: November 28, 2017
Where: Entuitive office, Advanced Boardroom, 200 University Avenue, 7th Floor click here for map
Cost: Our workshops are FREE

The workshop will further explore form finding and geometry exploration using optimization processes with Galapagos and Octopus. You will learn how you can use these tools to identify design parameters and use them to guide your designs based on optimizing various objectives. The workshop is intended to provide a groundwork and understanding of how the optimization plug-ins work and the DOs and DON’Ts of developing scripts to allow the user to develop their own optimization routines.

A new bylaw requires owners to regularly assess and maintain the exterior of their buildings that are five or more storeys tall. The new Building Maintenance Bylaw will address hazards on all of Calgary’s 584+ buildings over five storeys through reviews and possible action. Learn how this will affect your properties.
