Lemay + Toker
Structural Engineering Consultant
This single-storey bottle depot warehouse was repurposed to accommodate a new tenant after being vacant for some time. The client wished to upgrade the facility to be used as a new technician hub for Telus.
The project included a new entrance area canopy as well as a mezzanine inside. The facility also needed new windows and upgraded rooftop mechanical equipment.
Lemay + Toker retained Entuitive to provide structural engineering consulting services for new window wall openings, a review of the base building structure for the installation of new mechanical services, the design of the second-floor mezzanine, and the design of the steel frame entrance canopy.
Challenge: Designing a second-floor mezzanine inside the warehouse. The mezzanine had to be self-supporting as there was no way to tie the new structure into the existing structure without major upgrades.
Solution: Entuitive completed detailed site assessments and provided optioneering services to allow an economical solution to be developed that met the Owner and Tenant requirements.
