Entuitive is committed to monitoring and mitigating our impact on the environment and the communities in which we operate – both through our design work and through our internal business operations. Our senior management team and Board of Directors are accountable for planning, managing and monitoring applicable legal and other environmental obligations, risks and impacts.

MAKING AN IMPACT THROUGH THE SERVICES WE DELIVER

With respect to the buildings and infrastructure we design, Entuitive is currently focused on measuring key areas of impact that relate to building performance, environmental sustainability, occupant wellbeing, and resilience. This includes:

  • Investing in and studying advanced applications of technology to define more sustainable solutions for our projects
  • Conducting lifecycle analysis of structural components to benchmark embodied environmental impacts
  • Tracking material quantities in the design process, and leveraging parametric modelling to reduce material use and improve structural performance
  • Analyzing envelope components to assess energy savings, durability and occupant impacts of envelope assemblies and design
  • Developing performance-based modelling capabilities to improve our ability to design for various risk and resilience criteria, including improved performance for wind, vibration, seismic, blast, flooding and fire.

We are focused on building performance leadership by reimagining the way that buildings are conceived and constructed.  Many of our team members are LEED Green Associates or LEED AP accredited, holding advanced knowledge in green building and sustainable design.   We aim, whenever possible, to work with our clients to promote sustainable design practices that deliver measurable performance advantages.

GREENING OUR BUSINESS OPERATIONS

From an operational standpoint, we are making efforts to track and improve the environmental impacts of our business activities. Our initiatives include:

  • Achievement of BOMA BEST® Silver certification for our Toronto office, Canada’s industry standard for commercial building sustainability. [Include BOMA certified silver logo]
  • Establishing a green team to lead employee engagement activities within the firm
  • Measuring our energy, water, waste and carbon footprint from operations
  • Establishing a green purchasing policy to address our office procurement
  • Promoting best practices for energy and greenhouse gas reductions including energy conservation measures (examples include occupancy sensors for lighting, shutting off electronics/computers when not in use, adjusting set points, teleconferencing/video conferencing for work meetings, promoting transit and active commuting options)

CONTRIBUTING TO THE COMMUNITIES WHERE WE LIVE AND WORK

As a firm, our impact extends beyond the projects we work on. We strive to make a positive impact on the communities in which we operate. Our activities include:

  • Collaboration with community groups and charitable organizations in the markets where we are active
  • Sponsorship of not-for-profit organizations and fundraising events
  • Compliance with all local regulations in the jurisdictions in which we work
  • Policies to address anti-corruption and anti-competitiveness
  • Supporting the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact
  • Standards of business ethics for our employees and representatives
  • Supporting staff volunteering and charitable activities
  • Supporting research partnerships and co-op/internship programs with post-secondary institutions
