Entuitive Co-op Diaries: Jesse Osmond

At Entuitive, we have a great team of creative, collaborative, and advanced people, and that includes our talented co-op students. In this post by Jesse Osmond, Building Envelope Specialist, we hear about his experience during his work term with us. Read the other posts in this series here and here.
Take it away, Jesse.
Looking back on my first day at Entuitive, I was more excited than anything else. I had heard great things about Entuitive from a friend and jumped at the chance to work in the Toronto office. I truly couldn’t be happier with how things turned out. I was very eager to learn and excited about building envelope. I’ve learned that an important part of the Entuitive culture is that everyone is encouraged to learn and develop their skills at every opportunity.
But one of the best things about being a co-op student at Entuitive is that you aren’t really a co-op student. From day one I was treated like a member of the team and given the same opportunities as my colleagues. I’ll admit this was a bit daunting at first, but I was always supported and encouraged. And by the end of my term in Toronto I was essentially running a couple of projects as if they were my own.
After that I was given the opportunity to return to Entuitive for a second work term. This time in the Vancouver office. I’m no stranger to moving long distances for co-op placements, but I was worried about what to expect. This is where I really got to see Entuitive’s One Company culture shine. Thanks to how integrated the offices are, I was able to jump right back in to work as if I was still in the Toronto office. Everything about it felt familiar…except for the view of the mountains! And with a steady stream of guests from other offices coming and going, it was easy to see that the One Company Culture is a huge part of what makes Entuitive so special.
Certainly, my second work term didn’t end the way I thought it would. With COVID-19 in full swing, I had to come back to Ontario and work remotely. But to praise the One Company culture a bit more, Entuitive was already well equipped to move to a full work-from-home situation and everything has gone as smoothly as you can hope for. Despite the unprecedented situation, I’ve gained invaluable experience, and I am certain that Entuitive will be an important part of my future career post-graduation.
