Entuitive Welcomes Tanya Luthi
New York, NY – May 2, 2019 – Tanya Luthi has joined Entuitive’s team as Vice President, Structures in the firm’s New York office. Tanya brings over 13 years of experience in the structural engineering industry with a focus on mass timber and timber hybrid buildings.
“We’re excited to have Tanya join our team,” says Christopher Johnson, Vice President, Building Envelope. “Her diverse background and strong leadership skills will make her a terrific addition to the firm. Tanya’s timber expertise is particularly valuable as it strengthens our ability to deliver on a growing timber portfolio, and expands our service offering in this dynamic sector. Tanya’s background and experience complement a growing number of Entuitive’s current projects in New York, including the revamp of the 1.3-million-square-foot former freight hub at 550 Washington Street and our ongoing work at the Hudson Yards.”
In addition to her design experience, Tanya co-authored the US and Canadian Nail-Laminated Timber Design and Construction Guides, and she gives regular talks on timber design at architectural and engineering conferences across North America.
“The addition of Tanya to the Entuitive team continues to build on our integrated portfolio of services that drive performance engineering that also includes fire engineering, pedestrian modeling, and advanced building performance modeling,” adds Brock Schroeder, Entuitive’s Managing Director.
Tanya is an active member of the NYC structural code committee, where she advises on matters related to mass timber construction. She also served on the structural work group of the ICC Ad-Hoc Committee on Tall Wood Buildings, which successfully introduced increased height limits on mass timber buildings to the 2021 International Building Code. Her most notable projects include the National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia as well as the MEC Head Office in Vancouver.
“At Entuitive, I have the best of both worlds,” says Tanya. “On the technical side, I have the opportunity to be on a team with not just structural engineers, but building envelope specialists, fire engineers, and a whole range of other talented people who all work to improve our built environment. On the human side, I know I am joining a firm that cares about its people and about creating an open, collaborative culture.”
