Challenge
Since the parkade was an important source of revenue, the owner mandated that it had to remain open during the partial demolition and reinforcing of the existing structure.
Solution
Entuitive worked closely with the owner, architects, and contractors to ensure the existing structure remained stable and safe during partial demolition. Temporarily changing the traffic flow pattern was necessary to achieve this. Reinforcing the existing structure required minimal head room intrusions, involving external steel plate reinforcing of the existing concrete slab and beams.
