Career Development at Entuitive: Stephen Cohos' Mobility Story

ree

Empowering our people to grow and explore new opportunities is central to how we work. Through internal mobility, team members can take on new challenges and relocate across our offices in Canada, broadening their perspectives, building meaningful connections, and advancing their careers. We recently spoke with Stephen Cohos about his journey relocating from Calgary to Vancouver and his evolving career at Entuitive.

Thanks so much for chatting with us, Stephen. Can you start by sharing how your journey with Entuitive began?

I began my journey with Entuitive in 2014 as a co-op student in the Calgary office, supporting the Special Projects and Building Envelope groups as a designer and drafter. After returning to BC to complete my studies, I rejoined the firm full-time in 2017 with the Special Projects group. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to help establish the Project Coordinator group, contribute to the Transportation team on the 100th St. Bridge in Edmonton and the Bertram Street Pedestrian Overpass in Kelowna, and take on a mix of project management, workflow process implementation, and transportation work.

In 2025, I transitioned into a full-time Construction Administrator role at the Calgary Event Centre before relocating to Vancouver.

You've certainly had a dynamic path at Entuitive. What inspired your decision to make the move to Vancouver?

My wife is originally from BC, and while we initially moved to Calgary to start our careers and family, we always considered returning. When the opportunity arose to support the growth of the Vancouver office, I volunteered to relocate, seeing it as a chance to help build the team and expand our presence in a major market.

How has the transition been, both personally and professionally?

The transition has been fantastic for both my family and me. We've connected with a great community, and the Vancouver office has a vibrant, tight-knit culture that truly embodies Entuitive’s collaborative spirit.

"The team is enthusiastic, social, and entrepreneurial, and there’s a strong sense of excitement about growing the office and tackling new opportunities in a dynamic market."

It sounds like an exciting chapter. What kind of projects are you currently involved in?

Currently, I split my time between the transportation sector and major projects across Entuitive. One of the most exciting recent wins is the Richmond Hospital project—our first alliance project, where we partnered with Magnusson Klemencic Associates (MKA) from Seattle.

This project has set up the Vancouver structural team with significant work for the coming years. We’re also pursuing additional opportunities, such as the Surrey Entertainment District and the OMC5 location along the future Expo Line extension in the South of Fraser.

Looking ahead, what goals do you have for yourself and for the Vancouver office?

I’m focused on growing the Vancouver office into a major player in the market. With the city’s scale and potential, I’m excited to help build a thriving business and create an environment where people from across Entuitive want to work. The next decade will be about expanding our team, winning major projects, and fostering innovation.

Thank you so much for chatting with us, Stephen! We’re excited to see how your leadership continues to shape Entuitive's growth in Vancouver. If you would like to connect with Stephen, please reach out here.
