Updated: Oct 8

At Entuitive, we always seek to ensure we have the right people on the right projects, encouraging our team to grow and explore new opportunities across the firm. Recently, Aleksander Szulc, Senior Engineer, made the move from our Construction Engineering team to the Special Projects group in Ottawa. With a strong technical background and extensive experience in heritage structures, Aleks is a valuable addition to our local team. His transition will help round out and complement our services offered to this exciting market.

Below, Aleks talks to us about this move and what he’s most looking forward to in this next chapter of his career.

Can you tell us a bit about your journey at Entuitive so far?

I joined Entuitive two years ago to work on the Centre Block Rehabilitation Project in Ottawa, and I’ve been primarily focused on that ever since. It’s been a great experience being part of such a significant, complex restoration effort.

What made you decide to transition to the Special Projects (SPR) group?

A few months ago, Entuitive had an opening on the SPR team. I’ve always been drawn to projects that are a bit outside the box, and SPR is known for tackling a wide variety of structurally unique challenges. I also had some prior experience in this type of work from a previous role. So, I reached out to express my interest in transitioning to that team.

What are you most looking forward to in the new role?

Definitely the variety! Special Projects takes on such a diverse range of work, and it really requires a lateral-thinking approach. Every project is a new puzzle to solve, which I find very exciting.

Are you still involved with Centre Block?

Yes. At the moment, I’m splitting my time between both teams to make sure everything on Centre Block is wrapped up smoothly before I fully transition into SPR. It’s a big project, and I want to make sure I leave things in a good place.

Any projects in SPR you’ve supported so far?

I’ve had the chance to support some Building Condition Assessments, and recently I’ve been involved in the Hart House heritage project at the University of Toronto, which has been really rewarding.

Thanks for sharing your journey with us, Aleks! We’re thrilled to see you bring your curiosity and creativity to the Special Projects team!
