Highway 417 Island Park
Entuitive was retained to complete a full analysis of the new and existing Island Park bridges during the rapid replacement move.
The analysis considered the initial support condition on full shoring, release of the intermediate support, transfer onto the mover, and placement on the final bearings.
The analysis was required to identify stresses in the steel members and deck for each of the stages of construction and to control deflections to control cracking of the concrete deck.
The analysis was completed using a detailed grillage approach. Entuitive completed a similar project for the Clyde Avenue – Highway 417 Bridge.
Particular issues included change in support conditions, shrinkage of concrete, and dynamic inputs from the mover.
