LifeLabs is a mixed office and lab space designed to help healthcare providers diagnose, treat, monitor, and prevent disease in patients.
The lab performs a broad range of community laboratory tests, provides national access to highly specialized clinical tests, laboratory testing and management for hospitals, and provides professional health services for employers, insurers, and government agencies.
The Entuitive team also reinforced the existing roof structure to support new mechanical units to service the new upgraded use.
LifeLabs undertook interior renovations to improve and upgrade two of their existing spaces – International Boulevard and Kennedy Road. Renovations included upgraded traffic and specimen flow from exterior to interior as well as within the floor layouts, an atrium infill to gain more floor space, improvements to the HVAC equipment, and a new area for highly sensitive and potentially explosive storage.

Challenge One
Renovations at both facilities were undertaken while the building and business remained operational.
Solution One
Given the sensitive nature of the organic specimens and highly controlled environment, exploratory work and the construction work were closely coordinated with the consultant, contractors, and the building occupants to limit interruptions to the active business.
