Ontario Place Revitalization

Ontario Place is currently undertaking a series of improvement projects across their site with the goal to reopen portions of the west island to the public in stages.

CULTURAL

Entuitive is working with PARTISANS in a contract to provide structural engineering, structural restoration, and building envelope restoration Investigation and design for these projects, including the following:

Cinesphere Ramp/Bridge Replacement: Concerning structural deterioration was identified at the access ramp to the Cinesphere. Entuitive performed a structural investigation and provided details for urgent structural repairs to allow safe occupancy of the ramp. These repairs were implemented in 2017, however, many structural components of the ramp were significantly deteriorated and in need of replacement to avoid further deterioration and future safety risks.

Pavilion Pods Restoration: Entuitive is providing structural restoration services for three of the historic Pavilion Pods, to transform them into multipurpose event spaces. Originally built in 1971, the steel and aluminum Pavilion Pods are suspended over water. Entuitive performed investigation of the condition of the pods from the water, and prepared structural models to analyze the structural capacity of the Pods to accommodate the interior renovations.

Entuitive recently completed the design of a replacement steel bridge ramp structure and is currently acting as the contract administrator for the replacement of the steel ramp, and landscape improvements adjacent to the base of the new ramp.

North Marina Dock Replacement: Entuitive is providing structural restoration services for the repair of existing foundation piers and steel framing, and for the replacement of the wooden deck structure for the 700-foot-long north marina dock. Entuitive prepared drawings for tender of the repairs, and is currently acting as contract administrator for the reconstruction of the dock.
