RED DEER, AB
Red Deer Justice Centre
As a dramatic addition to the Red Deer downtown core, the Red Deer Justice Centre will replace the existing, aging courthouse and provide a modern regional court facility to service Red Deer and central Alberta.
The 9 story above grade building will initially house 12 dedicated court rooms, with shelled space allocated for the future addition of 4 more court rooms.

KEY CONSIDERATIONS
Challenge One
With tight site constraints, including a historic two-story house to remain, every inch of structural column and wall thickness affected the program layout.
Solution One
Entuitive worked closely with Group2 Architecture to develop a concrete wall to column gravity transfer system to maintain the acoustic properties and slim dimension of a wall on courtroom floors with the flexibility of column placement for floors with other uses.
