Rundle College

This new school brings together Rundle College students on a shared 20-acre campus.

The project aims to provide a complete educational experience for students from Kindergarten through to Grade 12, and complements the current campus adjacent.

The school features independent learning spaces and traditional classrooms, as well as a gymnasium, music and art rooms, learning commons and a great hall.

The great hall is a two-storey open-to-below space, with full height glazing. Three large skylights provide additional access to natural light.

Curtainwall style glazing along the west elevation of the learning commons allows for a view to the Rocky Mountains.

LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW ENTUITIVE APPROACHES ENGINEERING CHALLENGES, AND DISCOVER WHY ENGINEERING PERFORMANCE MATTERS FOR YOUR PROJECT.

KEY CONSIDERATIONS

Challenge One

Field review scope was split between two consultants, one for the roof assemblies and one for other building envelope assemblies (Entuitive). With skylight curbs and other penthouse level details, there were many details that overlapped both scopes, which required coordination.

Solution One

Our team coordinated our field reviews of the building envelope systems with reviews by the roofing consultant to review tie-in details between both systems and discuss with roofing and cladding subtrades as well as the general contractor solutions and sequencing that worked for all.
