Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford is a provincial mental health facility providing innovative, client-centered, and therapeutic services.
This project replaced an existing hospital with a mandate to serve residents of Saskatchewan living with mental illness whose needs could not be accommodated in other facilities.
The correctional centre component of the facility is designed specifically for inmates with mental health issues and operates as a modern, therapeutic environment.
The hospital achieves identified synergies in delivering mental health services through a combined 188-bed psychiatric facility and an integrated 95-room correctional centre.

KEY CONSIDERATIONS
Challenge One
The P3 delivery model created an extreme, fast-track delivery of the building structure. On this project, Entuitive prepared and delivered structural construction documents months ahead of the rest of the consultant team.
Solution One
A highly collaborative and flexible design approach was critical to delivering a successful structural design. Entuitive worked closely with the consultants and contractor to plan ahead, and delivered a structural design that was both cost-effective and flexible enough to accommodate future work by other consultants.
