SCARBOROUGH, ON

University of Toronto Scarborough Campus Valley Land Accessible Trail

The University of Toronto Scarborough Campus (UTSC) is located on the Highland Creek Ravine.

The University of Toronto Scarborough Campus (UTSC) is located on the Highland Creek Ravine.

The area has been carefully preserved to recall the natural history of the University’s original 300-acre development.

Its state-of-the-art design features 600 meters of trail, including three elevated steel framed boardwalks to provide a breathtaking natural experience for individuals of all ages and abilities by exceeding the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

To accommodate for growth within the area, the Valley Land Trail was designed to serve as a connection between the UTSC and the ravine as well as provide a connection to the Pan American athletic facilities and hundreds of kilometers of Toronto trails. The fully accessible trail descends over 26 meters in elevation within the Environmentally Significant Area (ESA).
