Originally constructed in 2004, the Vivo for Healthier Generations facility was designed to promote healthy living through innovation.

Originally constructed in 2004, the Vivo for Healthier Generations facility was designed to promote healthy living through innovation.

The existing facility includes two NHL-sized ice arenas, a triple gymnasium, fitness centre, leisure pools, climbing wall, multipurpose spaces, child minding and preschool, a Calgary Public Library branch, research and innovation lab, health services, and community organizations.

The project also includes renovations to the existing facility.

A new two-storey addition will increase the existing facility by approximately 36% to accommodate a new aquatic centre with a 25-metre, six-lane lap pool, steam room and sauna, increased fitness area, research and innovation spaces, community multipurpose spaces, an indoor park, and exterior courtyards for the community and program use.
