CALGARY, AB

YWCA Hub and Spoke Facility

This five-storey community complex project included spaces for housing, education and employment programs, counseling and personal development, and child services.

This five-storey community complex project included spaces for housing, education and employment programs, counseling and personal development, and child services.

The building is situated in a historical area of Inglewood and is rather large for the community setting, therefore the design is understated while also being scaled to its surroundings. Large areas of green spaces also lend to the community, including a large green roof.

The facility is designed to not only satisfy but exceed these standards whenever possible.

Although not actively seeking formal certifications for the YW Hub Facility, LEED and WELL Building StandardTM principals and design strategies were studied and adopted by the project team through the design process.
