Challenge
The big architectural move for the building consists of a 1.5-metre side shift of the building at the 22nd floor in two directions.
Solution
We were successful in avoiding transfer girders by developing a column shift transfer. This allowed the design to maintain the floor-to-floor heights as well as the column position at the perimeter of the building. On one side of the building the column transfer permits the cantilevering to occur and on the opposite the column transfer permits the span condition to be resolved.
